CAN gov't do it better?
Let's look at the record...
Social Security
This program was set up simply to increase revenues for the gov't. The retirement age was set so much higher than the life expectancy that few, if any were expected to collect it. Further, the payout was so low that practically no one could live on it; and those who continued to work were (and are) penalized by having their own money held back. These are just a small part of the problems associated with SSI.
Welfare
This program was created with two objectives in mind...more revenues to steal from, and the creation of a whole new class of voters...the Something-For-Nothing (SFN) voters who would vote for anyone who promised them anything they wouldn't have to work for. It is now overloaded with cheating; and only about ten percent of the money collected by the gov't reaches the people on welfare. It's welfare, OK...welfare for bureaucrats!
Infrastructure (highways, bridges, etc.)
Gov't has done it again in this case. Infrastructure is frequently shoddily-built and costs much more to build and maintain than if it was handled by the private sector.
There are many more stories to tell; but they might come up in other entries.
I'd like to add that the first two cases involve social services that should be handled by families, churches, and charities...families can no longer handle it because of taxes and governmental interference; churches are now dedicated to building magnificent edifices and enriching themselves (while being exempt from taxes); and charities are rapidly becoming political pawns of the people who protect them from having to be charitable.
Guess who is behind all these failed programs?
The Democratic party, firmly in the control of the Communists ever since the JFK assassination!
Have a nice day!
