Dan Blather and CBS
I just watched the last episode of CBS News that will ever appear on any television that I own or control.
Dan Rather (AKA Dan Blather) has become such a partisan political hack that the news division he heads can no longer be called a news division. Instead, it should be called The Anti-Bush Chronicles. I am currently researching a story that Blather has joined the Kerry campaign as an official consultant.
It has been said that he is also appearing in Kerry TV ads.
If the stories are true, there is absolutely no way that he can maintain his 'journalistic integrity' (as if he had any to begin with).
The CBS network refuses to disclose their sources on the memo thing, choosing instead to attack further (with more forgeries?) on their magazine show, '60 Minutes). How dumb do they think the American public is?
Their arrogance knows no bounds. They expect you to believe that those documents were typed on a typewriter that didn't exist by a man who didn't type...that's how dumb! To try to get you to accept that premise, they are trotting out people who will accept money for their word to say that they believe the memos are real. They announced today that a comment would be forthcoming at 3:PM today; but it was not forthcoming.
When you add this latest attack to the 60 Minutes book reviews of any and all books that attack Bush, and the constant bias in the news (including bias by omission), it becomes very apparent that CBS and Rather are very much 'in the tank' for John Kerry.
Apparently, though, they cannot or will not realize the fact that they no longer own a monopoly. Talk radio and the Internet are there, providing something that network television has not provided...a chance for people to talk back!
I sincerely hope that this will result in the end of Rather's career, as well as a complete overhaul in the network news formats and content.
