Filibuster a bad joke...
Filibuster
It's worse than a bad joke. It is simply and only a means of defeating the duly-elected majority on any given bill. Its' existence is an affront to the citizens of this country. It allows one man to override the processes of legislation and block bills from being debated or passed. In effect, it creates a supermajority requirement for anything that one person doesn't like.
Currently, the filibuster is being used as a tool by the Liberal (read Communist) Democrats to prevent Bush from appointing any judges which
they think might not help them in their quest to
take over this country by judicial fiat.
A couple of things you probably do not know about the filibuster:
It is NOT a part of our Constitution.
It has nothing to do with debate...in fact it
squelches all debate.
It never existed before 1860.
Its' rules have already been changed 7 times,
largely by the Democrats to favor themselves.
There's much more; but perhaps I'll use that for
another entry.
